Jack R. VonSosen is an associate attorney of Watton Law Group, who handles bankruptcy and debt relief cases out of our office in Salt Lake City, Utah. When working on a case, he focuses on the fact that bankruptcy laws are meant to provide solutions for people in difficult financial situations. He likes to get to know the client’s goals, find the applicable solutions laid out in the law, and use the right processes to reach a positive outcome. Jack prides himself on his efficiency, organization, attention to detail, punctuality, and the genuine compassion that he shows his clients.
Jack’s father is an immigrant from Austria, so he always had an interest in American law and government, which led him to a legal career path. He earned his B.A. from Brigham Young University and then completed his J.D. from Brigham Young University Law School. While in college, he worked as an office specialist while also tutoring other students in writing and history.
Originally, Attorney Jack R. VonSosen thought he would practice law in Las Vegas, Nevada, but the charm of Salt Lake City changed his heart and mind. He planted his roots in Salt Lake City after living in the San Francisco Bay Area for most of his life and joined Watton Law Group to start helping locals who were feeling the weight of debt. Using his passion and legal knowledge, he now helps people see the bright side of bankruptcy. Recently, he became an official member of the American Bar Association.
Jack considers himself a lifelong fan of the Oakland A’s, the Raiders, and University of Utah football. When growing up, he often played baseball, participated in youth government associates, and learned to love the outdoors as an Eagle Scout. He stays active today through weightlifting, bass fishing, and acting as the now-10-year commissioner of his fantasy football league. Jack is also an adamant member of the Adult Congenital Heart Association as a survivor of two open heart surgeries, which is why he is so passionate about diet, exercise, and fitness.
