Attorney Michael J. Maloney is a highly skilled bankruptcy attorney and the managing partner at Watton Law Group. He has built his practice on a foundation of client communication, honesty, and integrity, with the goal of educating his clients and providing them with the information they need to make the best possible decisions about their financial futures. He is admitted to practice in state courts in Wisconsin, Missouri, and Utah, as well as federal courts in the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri, the Southern District of Illinois, the District of Utah, the District of Colorado, and the District of Kansas.
Attorney Maloney earned his law degree from Marquette Law School in 2004, just before Congress overhauled the nation’s bankruptcy laws in 2005. As a result, Attorney Maloney obtained an in-depth understanding of the new statutes and was able to quickly pivot, allowing him to remain at the forefront of U.S. bankruptcy laws. In the early stages of his practice, he was responsible for dozens of arguments and decisions that helped clarify and refine what these new laws meant.
In his current practice, Attorney Maloney draws on this extensive knowledge of the law to help educate his clients about their rights and options. He recognizes that the law and its terminology can be complex and convoluted, which is why he carefully and thoroughly breaks things down for his clients. Once they fully understand their options, they are able to work alongside Attorney Maloney to develop personalized legal solutions tailored to their unique needs and goals.
When helping his clients navigate the legal system, Attorney Maloney puts himself in their shoes. He understands how his clients find themselves facing the challenges they are up against, as well as what it will take to help them move forward. At the end of the day, he strives to educate, counsel, and guide his clients but leaves the ultimate decisions up to them, ensuring they have the full legal information they need to regain financial freedom.
Attorney Maloney was raised in Wauwatosa, WI and comes from a family of lawyers. In the past, his father was an attorney and his brother-in-law worked as a creditors’ lawyer.
