Ramon Ortiz is an attorney at Watton Law Group who combines compassion, clear communication, and disciplined legal skill to help clients regain control of their finances and move forward with dignity.

Ramon was drawn to the practice of law by a clear purpose: helping ordinary people navigate systems that were not designed with them in mind. He believes everyone deserves someone firmly in their corner, and that conviction guides his work helping clients find meaningful debt relief through bankruptcy.

Before joining Watton Law Group, Ramon spent five years handling appeals. That experience sharpened his litigation skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage legal nuance; strengths he now brings to complex bankruptcy matters. He carefully manages the many moving parts of each case so the outcome best serves the client’s goals and circumstances.

Ramon practices with empathy in mind. Clients facing financial distress are often at their most vulnerable, and he meets that vulnerability with nonjudgment and respect. He prioritizes clear, plain-language communication, recognizing that clients come from every background and that even the most educated clients rarely want to hear legalese.

He meets people where they are so they can understand their options and participate meaningfully in their own cases.

Born and raised in Chicago, Ramon enjoys learning to cook as well as biking and swimming and is working toward completing a triathlon one day. He is also a season ticket holder for the opera.
